Without fungi, the Earth would be uninhabitable. Dead plants and animals would not decompose but instead accumulate across the landscape. Fungi are nature’s great recyclers – sustaining the cycles that allow ecosystems to flourish.

Often unseen and overlooked, fungi are vulnerable to soil disturbance, pollution and habitat loss. Through diverse artistic responses, Fabulous Fungi aims to reveal their beauty, complexity and quiet power – inviting artists and audiences alike to look more closely, think more deeply, and foster collective care for the living systems that sustain us all.

This years exhibition, a partnership between Artisans and Bellarine Landcare Group, showcases these incredible lifeforms in a wide variety of mediums. From the small and delicate, to the large and robust, this exhibition is a must see for all nature lovers.
