At the monthly BLG meeting in October, Colin Seis, a regenerative agriculture pioneer, has agreed to present and answer questions.
In addition to his holistic management techniques, intense rotational grazing systems and multiple production systems, he was also an early leader in cultivating and harvesting native grasses as one of the enterprises on his farm. Colins’ property Winona, north of Gulgong in the NSW Central Highlands, was an original case study in regenerative agriculture conducted by Soils for Life in 2012. Their profile of Winona at that time told an incredible story of recovery. It detailed how the landscape, recovering from the effects of a devastating bushfire, plus suffering from salinity, declining soil quality, dying trees, and insect attack had been rehabilitated under Colin Seis’ innovative management. (More information on Colin and his property here).
Colin has done numerous presentations about native grasslands, how they function, and how to restore them over many years. He has kindly agreed to present to our group and answer any questions we may have.
